At Green Bay Primary School, a new space has been created with one clear purpose: strengthening the connection between parents, teachers, and students.

The initiative began at the start of the school year when Acting Principal Cleopatra Henry-Joseph introduced the idea of a dedicated parental workshop room. Her vision was simple but impactful, to create a space where parents and teachers could come together regularly to build stronger parenting skills and support student development.

Recognizing the value of the idea, Sen. Michael Joseph moved quickly to support the project. Just a few months later, that vision has been fully realized.

The newly renovated room is now fully equipped with modern audio-visual technology, including a projector, retractable screen, surround sound system, and full air conditioning. The space has also been completely repainted and outfitted to provide a comfortable and functional environment for workshops and training sessions.

More importantly, the room is already being used. The first workshop, led by Teacher Vigo, brought parents into the space to begin engaging in meaningful discussions and learning opportunities. Sen. Joseph also participated in the session, addressing parents and encouraging them to continue strengthening their role in their children’s education.

This project reflects a broader commitment to service and delivery. As he has always shared, leadership often requires being resourceful, sometimes using personal resources, and working alongside a dedicated team to get things done. The goal remains the same: delivering real results for the people.

This parental workshop room is an investment in families, in education, and in the future of the community. By creating a space where parents are supported and empowered, the initiative helps to build a stronger foundation for student success at Green Bay Primary School and beyond.
